St Andrew's Lenten Intiative
For years, as a church outreach project, we have given to The Society of St. Andrew to help feed the poor in the United States. This year again, it is listed in our mission budget. However, we are also offering an opportunity this year to each family to take the St. Andrew's Lenten devotional booklet and read it during lent and use an offering box to collect change which will be given to the society to provide food for the hungry. These booklets and boxes are in the sanctuary and may be picked up at any time.

My Sister’s House
When Rhonda Hobbs was the associate pastor at Burks UMC she noticed that many women in the congregation were working women. She had a vision of helping women who are new to or ready to re-enter the job market find the basic skills they would need to become employed. St. Andrews Center has provided space for the ministry of workforce training. All classes and workshops will be led by qualified volunteers and available at no cost. The project team leader is Pat Marshall. A clothes closet has been established for women who might need professional outfits.
